As the United States contends with the COVID-19 pandemic, and new variants of the virus result in an uptick of infections and death, we must continue to prioritize equitable vaccination. Increasing vaccines is especially important for historically marginalized communities, such as communities of color, who experience disproportionately higher rates of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. In response to this need, Families USA has launched the Building a New Normal through Vaccine Equity Initiative to advocate for and achieve policy changes that makes COVID-19 vaccine distribution more equitable and builds a foundation to address long-standing, structural health inequities.
In partnership with Manatt Health and Health Equity Solutions, Families USA hosted a webinar to examine strategies for states to drive equitable vaccine distribution and how to center equity as our nation recovers from the pandemic.
